Last year I did this with my computer... "Go to start menu then Click "Run" then Type msconfig then a window will appear . Click "Start Up" (Upper Right) then uncheck the unnecessary programs that you dont want to run during start up. Restart your computer!" and when I restarted my computer all that came up was a blue screen... we had to go buy a new computer.... Well my question is why did this happen?? Thanks!!

'Cause you can't arbitrarily stop necessary parts of the operating system from starting and expect it to run properly. You gotta KNOW what you're doing before you do stuff like that.

Why didn't you just restart in Safe mode and check all the ones you unchecked? Or take it to a computer store where someone could fix it?

The decision to buy new one was yours.

Are you sure nothing on the boot.ini file got deleted? It sounds like the boot loader got hosed. It is also on MSCONFIG.

Yeah, disabled programs required for windows to run. All you had to do was reinstall Windows.
