Since no one really seems to be answering the question...
I would say the Yankees, out of those two teams.
More famous people hang out in NY than in Boston.
Both are great cities, but I guess that NY has more famous fans. Billy Crystal is a Yankees fan. He was at the Giants game with Robin Williams (a Giants fan - the Giants have a few famous fans. I sat behind Bob Weir at a Giants game once).

Red Sox have more fans because a lot of the Yankees fans are posers. go by percentage. not that its possible or anything but if you were to ask every single fan of each team to name as many players as possible i bet that the red sox fans would be able to name more players along with positions than yankee fans. just a personal opinion though

Yankees are better i think if they play like they did when they had that big win streak against red sox they are going down.
