Hey guys I am trying to figure out why fuel is being dumped into my cylinders? I am not sure if it just running wwaaayyyyy rich or what. I have changed the Fuel Pressure Regulator, and took a multimeter an tested the TPS an O2 sensor and Coolant temp sensor all which tested fine. If you change to dry plugs it will fire back up, drive fine, you can turn it off and back on no problem. Twice it has died while pulling into the drive but starts right back up. However if you let it sit for a day or two it wont start and the plugs are soaked what gives?

I know that just changing the plugs doesnt fix the problem it just allows me to start the car and check items that need to be checked at operating temp. I also am thinking it is a leaky injector I think that it is very small leak so that when turned off for a period of a day or so it drips enough to soak the plugs. Anyone know how to test this theory without pulling the injectors or bringing it in? Also the plugs as you know are brand new the cap and rotor are brand new and I tested the resistance in each plug wire as well as checking the spark itself. As you can see I dont like asking for help unless I exhaust all of my ideas.

It is very difficult to diagnose through email situations but one thing I can tell you from experience that you may have a problem with the Idle Air motor. For you to have 4 injectors to be leaking down at the same time.....real rare for that to see. I have changed plenty of these IAC motors but sometimes they can be saved. It is located on the bottom of the throttle body with 2 coolant hoses and a vacuum line attached. Take this off and open it up, check it for carbon build up. If this valve gets stuck it will cause very hard restarts when the engine is cold.

I would think that you have a problem somewhere else. Reason is, when you try to crank your engine and it doesn,t fire up, there is going to be excessive fuel in the cylinder because it doesn,t burn off. So when you pull a spark plug, there is no doubt it will be soaked. Check your ignition system thoroughly(wires, plugs, etc.)Good luck

You could have a leaking injector, it may have some dirt in it and not letting it shut off completely. Even if you change the plugs and don't correct the problem, it will just foul the new plugs too. good luck.

so you mean to tell me that your car is pouring gas into your cylinders while its off and just sitting there? hmmm
i really have no idea only thing i can think of is leaking fuel injectors you might want to check em out but i dont see how they would be leaking for 2 days with the car just sitting there
