VP Cheney seems to think he is above scrutiny by congress. How dangerous is it to have a man who believes he answers to no one as VP of the USA? Is this a shared view in the entire executive branch?

Yes that evil little gnome actually believes that. Look at all the power he's had for so long. His ego has grown longer than Gandalf's beard. He thinks he really is above it all and has a right to thumb his nose at Congress. Forget that the Constitution clearly puts the VP in the Executive Branch. Pah! It's just the Constitution, nothing little like that is going to break through his sense of absolute entitlement.

Yes, he does. He has "better things to do" than be bothered with responsibility and the law, just like when he got his draft notice during the Viet Nam war. He is a coward and a facist, and as dangerous as Adolf Hitler.

It is only the wisdom of our founding fathers that has kept him from becoming a total dictator. Of course he ignores the Constitution that they wrote, except when it serves his purposes, but thankfully there are enough people who do respect the Constitution, Republican and Democrat, to keep him from becoming totally unaccountable and above the law.

Very dangerous to have a VP who thinks he is untouchable by the laws of the US. I bet Dick has shredded enough documents he probably killed 1/4th of the rain forest.

Basically under the particular law they tried to use he is. It is Congresses responsibility to use the correct law to try and obtain what he has not volunteered. After all they wrote the laws shouldn't they at least know which ones apply or is the country to now bow to the mighty senate that thinks it rules the country. They are only law makers they overstep their bounds.

Legally, the V.P. does not answer to the president. He is not part of the Executive Branch of government.

Cheney has outstepped his authority at virtually every turn since he's been in office.

He needs to go, along with his puppet Bush - for the good of the country.

He got by with not giving congress the details of his and Bush's illegal meeting with the oil companies just after the first election. I'm sure he thinks he will get by with this also.

Question is, who should he answer to? Democrat senators? And, why are all of these senators expending all of their time, effort, and our money to find fault with our leaders? I'm sure they're not positioning themselves for the next Presidential election. I mean, it isn't politics is it?
