No. For one thing it doesn't make much sense. An American fighter plane shooting down the jet would have been a much better story for the government to tell. They would have look more proactive and better able to protect people.
Now some of the details of the phone calls may have been embelished and stuff. That's kind of stuff happens all the time without any malicious intent.

On 9/11, one of the maintenance men told me that the TV in the break room had announced that Flight 93 *had* been shot down. Floyd was fairly smart; he was making something like $23/hr at the time, and was later promoted to head of maintenance. I don't recall which network we were watching, but it was one of the Big Three.
re: susi:
The stories about the phone calls from Flight 93 are easily disproved by the announcements from the cell phone companies about two years ago that new technology would *now* permit cell phone calls from airplanes in flight. This story didn't get a lot of play in the media, for obvious reasons.

I doubt they were shot down. It would have been practically impossible for fighter pilots to get suited up, into their aircraft, take off, find and shoot down Flight 93 all within the 30 minutes from the earliest time anyone outside of Flt 93 could have known it was potentially hijacked and the time it crashed into the Pennsylvania countryside.
I would like to point out that one of the heroes of Flight 93 who stormed the cockpit to stop the scumbags from carrying out their suicide mission, was a man from San Francisco named Mark Bingham.
Mark Bingham, American hero, was gay.

I suppose it's possible. But I doubt it. Generally I think things on 9/11 happened pretty much the way most of us believe - 19 Islamic nuts hijacked 4 planes. No bombs in WTC, no missiles struck the Pentagon and the fourth plane crashed in the Pennsylvania countryside after a fight by incredibly brave people against evil people.

Yes. Its the only 9-11 conspiracy I believe. A. Cheney himself said flights could and should be shot down. B. The story is too Hollywood. C. The wreckage is NOT consistent with a plane falling from the sky.
BTW, I have no problem with the gov. shooting down planes in that situation, wish they had gotten to the other two.

Imagine all the people that must be involved in this conspiracy. The pilots, the passengers calling their loved ones telling them what's going on. All willing to go to their deaths.
Sorry. I just don't buy conspiracy theories that require many to be in on it. It's just too easy for things to unravel.
Someone once said that 3 people can keep a secret, but only if 2 of them are dead.

I do believe you need to hear some real facts.
PBS had a documentary on several months ago that dealt
with the air traffic controllers on that day. You should obtain
it and watch it several times.

Well, the Tillman story and the Jessica Lynch stories were both created for propaganda (Donald R Walters was the REAL hero who fought until the ammo ran out and continued to fight. But you never heard about him because dead heros don't sell as well... also, he wasn't a cute blond.)...So, it's possible. But who knows?? I wouldn't spread the rumor unless I saw some proof.

No, it wasn't shot down. Do you think the families of all those people on that plane would go along with a propaganda story? All of them? Do you think that the news organizations wouldn't report it?

I'm curious, do you guys just sit around all day dreaming this stuff up or what? because if you do you are in very serious need of a life. Even if it was shot down, everybody ( except you and the
boneheads who will actually listen to you apparently ) knows that there was an order given to shoot down any hijacked aircraft and I haven't heard anybody argue with that order. So scratch one conspiracy theory !!!. If you're in the US you don't deserve to be.
