Alot of ESPN analysists say the 49ers will make the playoffs by winning the West. Who else thinks so?:

well you know what makes me think that?.. let see they currently have the fastest tight end in the NFL in Vernon Davis. They traded a 4th rd pick to Darrel Jackson, the seahawks leading reciever in catches. They signed Ashley Lelie. The signed pro-bowler Nate Clemens. The also signed Eagles safety Michael Lewis who was part of the 2004 Eagles NFC Champions team and a former pro-bowler. They resigned Walt Harris 2006 porobowler. NFC Leading rusher Frank Gore. And to top it off the 3rd yearimprovment of Alex Smith. Does that convince you guy?

This is the year that Alex Smith earns his pay. I believe he'll have a break-out year. The acquisitions the niners made this off-season definitely helps Alex Smith with his passing game. It's no secret how good Frank Gore is, so while opposing teams will be focusing on stopping Gore, look for Smith to FINALLY put his passing game into good use and help the 49ers make the playoffs.

Well they definitely have the potential, but potential simply means that you just haven't done it yet. With their free agent aquisitions this off-season the 49ers appear to be a much improved team. Alex Smith finally will have a good stable of weapons in Darrel Jackson, Ashley Lelie, and (a healthy) Vernon Davis. Don't be surprised if third round draft pick Jason Hill (WR) makes an impact--he is a fast and dangerous receiver. Defensively Nate Clements and Patrick Willis (#1 draft pick) will help anchor a Defense that can do nothing but improve. The 49ers' talent level can rival that of any team in the NFC west and with Mike Nolan at the healm I think that they will win the weak, but vastly improving NFC west.

They definitely have a chance to be a playoff team because they are in a mediocre conference and division. The addition of Darrell Jackson not only strengthens them but weakens division champ Seattle. Also, Frank Gore has emerged as a top 10 back in the league and Alex Smith will continue to get better with more experience. Vernon Davis needs to be healthy, but there are a lot of reasons to be hopeful this year if you're a 49er fan.

No, Seattle will win the West.
Seattle had a tough year with injuries (especially to Hasselback, Shaun Alexander, etc) yet still almost beat the bears to get to the NFC Title game following their defeat in the Superbowl. Seattle will most likely win the division (if mostly healthy). The 49ers seem to be pretty good now but would have A LOT of competition for a wild card slot (Carolina or New Orleans depending on who wins the NFC South, Dallas or Philly depending on who loses the East, Atlanta, St. Louis, an decent cardinal team??),

The 49ers should go 11-5, win the west, a first round playoff game and lose in the second round, but watch out for them in 2008.

A wildcard team at the least, and at the most they could take the NFC west... they have the talent to. They made a lot of great off-season aquistions, and had an excellent draft. If they can put it all together and everything meshes, they'll win the NFC west or probably be a wildcard team.

They go 10-6 and make it to the playoffs as the NFC West champion. They will not make it to the NFC Championship game or the Super Bowl.

Well I like the 9Er's I'm waiting for them to rebuild, they got there QB Alex Smith, They finally got a Tight End after failing in one Eric Johnson (Fail) and Vernon Davis (Catch) also the upgrade of there receivers Corps. I think they will have a fine season nothing great but a great developmental and get to know each other .500 season, give them a year or 2!!! Go 9ER'S!!!
