What I am asking is... When a person has had a few regular drinks at home or at a bar, how honest do you think they become. Example only: A husband has 5 beers and a wife has 4 beers at home. The night goes fine then the husband comments on a mutual "girl friend" about he wouldn't mind having sex with her. Obvious arguement. Other things are said....End of the night one on the couch and one in their bed.
I don't was comments on that specific situation, but on the honesty of the actual comment and being said while drinking. Also if people really are more honest about things they don't really want to let out, when they have been drinking.

I don't care if my husband talks sexually about Jessica Alba or Linsday Lohan....But when it is an ex-girlfriend that we see around or a mutual girlfriend I get really mad about the sexual comments. We have mutual guy friends, but never comment about them cause they are people we see and are friends with. I think it is o.k. for me to get mad that he comments like that about the mutual girlfriends we know. Is it?

My husband is the king of open sexual comments about any women and I have heard them for 5 years daily and recently it has been the friends that we have not just the everyday women!

People who get drunk end up saying things they both mean and don't mean. Haven't you ever seen drunk girls who swear up and down that the bartender is their best friend, and announce how much they love everyone? Haven't you heard of drunk men who beat the hell out of their wives, and don't remember a thing, but cry over how much they love them?

I read though some of the answers, alot seem to think people are more honest when they've been drinking. My problem with this is: Why don't women got to bars to find husbands? They say the best place to find a good man is at Church? Something is backwards here. I will say I'm more open when I've had a few, but honest? NO. Hell I think back about all the lies I've told after a few beers, and trying to get laid. I think some might say what they think, not necessarily the truth of what they'd really do.and in the end ,they only end up in trouble over it. I wonder if this poor hubby was set up in some way? I think there's more to this story then we know. Good Luck

I don't know about honesty but I do think alcohol does lower a person inhibitions in such a way that they are more likely to engage in doing things they wouldn't normally do. It's natural for people to fantasize about others but it's something else to act upon those fantasies. Sure it would make me made to hear my spouse say something like this but I would also take a look at who he is normally and see whether it was just a stupid comment or something I think he really meant. Think about what it's like when you get angry. Are you always honest in the heat of the moment or do you sometime just blurt out stuff because of how you feel. I see this no different than someone who's had too much to drink. Stupid stuff gets said all the time but it doesn't necessarily mean anything other than the person was being stupid at that time.

Hum.

Some times, I say I am a "Super-Star" when I am drunk. I have one friend who speaks great Spanish when she's loaded but can't put together a complete sentence in the language when she's sober.

Alcohol impairs the mind. In which, rational thinking is reversed and people say whatever comes to mind regardless of the consequences.

I am not saying it is correct, however, you have to keep in mind that some people don't think rationally when intoxicated. Hence, drunk driving, unprotected sex..etc.

He might think your friend is attractive...nothing more. Nothing less.

I wonder what secrets you might tell if you got drunk beyond the norm. Don't hold it against him until he tells you stuff when he's sober.

I am not sure what you are asking but my experience with "alcohol honesty" is people say things that are jut unacceptable. They say stupid things because they are impaired. Alcohol clouds judgment. Perhaps if the wife was not there he would have really boinked the mutual girl friend. Another good Idea!

There is a country western song about alcohol and how it has changed lives. Rarely for the better.

Maybe, maybe not. I don't know if peope get more honest when drunk. Some do. Others just get mean or say stupid things to get a reaction.

You know him better than anyone on the board. Would he be truthful about this? Would he act on it.

he's supid for making the comment, and he might find her attractive, but I wouldn't put much merit to it. Just don't let the two of them drink together :)

Someone might also be more interested in picking a fight when alcohol is involved. A person will often say whatever they know will tick the other person off. I don't think alcohol makes anyone anymore honest. I do think it makes them careless.

My feeling is that he is saying that in a different lifetime...as in, if he had never met you....and had the chance to be with a girl like that; that he wouldn't kick her out of bed. Does that make sense?

I seriously doubt that he has any serious intentions of cheating on you, or that he is going to pursue this girl. I'd let it go.

Answer 2: He could be feeling you out to see if you are interested in a threesome.

My wife says I'm that way. She says "drunks don't lie". I would say it is courage in a bottle! I try not to make waves in life, but sometimes while drinking I get up the courage to let it all out.

take it from someone who drink a bit too much.. if you happen to be letting your mind wonder.. you let it out.. it dont mean that they want to have sex with the person they just may find them attractive.. same way if a person is mad about something and lets it stew inside them..when they drink it comes out.. only it comes out way more..there are times that i am thiniking about something.. when i am sober it would not bother me as much.. but drunk.. oh boy does it bother me and anyone else that is around..
