I have recently heard from a transgendered male taking female hormones (and other meds) that a medicine he is on will eventually make his testes draw up inside the body and act (he didn't say functionally) as ovaries. Is this possible?

after reading your answers, is it possible that the reason the male testes retracts is because it wants to become some sort of female (reproductive) organ even if it won't be functional? What are your thoughts? I'm mad he lied.

No it is not possible. As a matter of fact when a person undergoes SRS (sexual reassignment surgery) the testicles are completely removed. So I don't see how that would happen if they "turn into" ovaries.

There are some transgender people who think of hormones as a magical pill that will suddenly turn them into their desired gender.. And unfortunately that isn't true. You have to undergo a hell of a lot just to have your external sexual organs changed. Internal is still impossible, which is the reason transgender people cannot procreate after completing their transition.

Also, don't you think it's just a might offensive to still be referring to that person as "he" even after you found out about their wishes?

No. He cannot change his testes into ovaries. What will happen is that his testicles will become non-functional as Testosterone producers.

But they cannot suddenly begin producing Estrogen and the other female hormones. He will have to get those by shots or creams or pills for the rest of his life.

No. The organs are fully formed as testicles, the body is unable to reverse engineer them into becoming ovaries.

Also ovaries near the outside of the body would not work, it would be too cold.

So right now it is impossible.

your transgendered friend is either lying or delusional ( I will give it the benefit of the doubt and say delusional) hormones don't change your sex, they change your body chemistry. Your friend is living in a fantasy and will get a big surprise when it comes time for the horribly mutilating surgery.

No! no no and no. Not possible. Cant happen. Wont happen. Impossible. Ovaries are a biological reproduction organ of biological females only.

nope.
A transgendered person can take hormones of the desired sex but they will never be able to reproduce as a person who was of their desired sex since birth. It is impossible, it is probably a hoax.

Don't be rediculous... if you think he lied...perhaps he wasn't sure of what he was feeling. Gender is a very complicated issue. It starts at birth

I don't think so.
Only secondary sexual characters can be changed by hormones. (hairs, breasts, etc.)
