Those who are familiar with chess know what you're referring to. Those who aren't, have no idea what you're talking about. My suggestion would be to clarify your question before posting...

Let me start by quoting a few lines from the BMCO by Nick de Firmian.

''The King's Gambit is part of the mythology of chess. For more than a hundred years this opening has represented a lost golden age, a nobler past of swashbuckling sacrifice and gung-ho attack, when few players were unsporting enough to defend correctly.''

I could go on, but the point is: If black knows his theory you will not enjoy the King's Gambit as white.

I'd like to add to that:

Who knows theory? Usually not people that play for fun, and a lot of club players don't care about it either!

If you're having fun with it, play it. There's not much I can suggest unless you have a question about a specific line...

If you want to know what's it all about, buy a book with a title like ''playing the King's Gambit.'' Or, just keep browsing the net. ''A bust to the King's Gambit'' is an interesting article by Bobby Fischer. It may be a little outdated but it's still a fun read.

Good luck.

ok well the kings gambit is risky because you lose control of f7 square but on the other hand it is good if your opponent accept the gambit. the problem with the kings gambit is that people dont always accept the trade they might do d5 or even Bd4 so if they do accept make sure you lead in developpement like you try to castle early and then aim all of your pieces to attack his queenside so that u get reconpensation for your loss of pawn. Thanks and good luck, but if you want to be a grandmaster, most people dont play that opening, because it is pretty easy to beat if you are 2500 or higher but for now good luck with the kings gambit, and if you decide to change openings (like me) then if you like the kings gambit then you will definately find the scotch a very interesting game that is played at all levels. (e4,e5,Nf3,Nf6,D4) very interesting game one of garry kasparovs favourites

No one is ready for it at first.

Then if it is a local club, they learn.
