Some do. Most don't.

Most animals don't need to have menstrual cycles because they only mate a few times a year. Therefore, they will make the most of their few opportunities to reproduce.

Dogs can menstruate if they miss their fertile period (estrus, aka "heat").

For many species that experience estrus, observable physiological changes occur to indicate fertility. In some apes, the butt cheeks and genital labia turn red.

In humans, however, we are one of the few species that mates not only as a reproductive function, but as a social function (pair bonding and the like). Because humans can mate whenever they feel like it, we don't need to rely on big showy signs of fertility. Human women experience "cryptic ovulation." That means you can't visually tell that we're fertile. So we go through our cycles, and if a man happens to catch us at the right time of the month (sans condoms and pills), then we get pregnant!

Most animals do not get "Periods" like humans do (a few bats and monkeys do). "Periods" or Menses come at the end of the cycle and mean that the person (or bat or monkey) is not pregnant. This bleeding is a sheding of the uterine lining because the person or animal will not need that lining to grow a baby. Some animals like dogs have times of bleeding that mean they are in heat and ready to be bred in order to have puppies. This is just some bloody fluid that is discharged from the uterine wall and not the shedding of the lining in a "period". These are just the differences between species and the way the reproductive system works.

actually human's are the "oddity" in the animal kingdom because we have no "season" like all the other animals and there's no outwardly obvious sign when we're fertile / ovulating. other animals do have "periods" (dogs for example), but it's when they're in heat (as i understand) so the "period" is the sign that they're currently fertile.

Yes mamals have what is better known as heat periods on a regular basis. You probably have not noticed because a lot of the household cats and dogs have been spayed. Therefore they do not have their heat periods.
