At the very least, a 3.75 on a 4.0 scale and you need to be in the top 10% of your graduating class. If that is too much stress, maybe you should consider other private colleges that are not part of Ivy league.

You need close to a 4.0.
But, a good GPA is not enough. You must also have good SATs and excellent extracurriculars, especially, something that shows that you are a leader, a creative and ambitious student who can compete against the best and win -- that would be some kind of state or national chmpionship or award.
About half the kids in America don't get ranked in school, so rank may not be important, but in elite schools usually about 80 to 90 % of the kids are in the top 10% of their graduating class.
If you are interested in Ivy and other elite schools you need to go to their websites and read the admissions pages line by line to see what their views are about applicants.
About 2 million kids will start college next year. About 25,000 will be in the top 10 -15 elite schools like the Ivies, Duke, Stanford, MIT, UChicago,. if you want to be in that cohort, then you have to earn it.
Good luck

4.0 (on a 4.0 grading scale)
Class rank is very important. Many ivy leagues look for either the top 10 in the class or the top 10%.
Keep in mind that this is for Ivy League colleges, so don't stress yourself out because there are other colleges out there. Good luck!

you should have a 4.0 unweighted. weighting is for p*ssies =).
and a slew of AP courses. and very high SATs
Class rank is not important compared to these other things. you could go to a manget school where everyone is above a 3.9... in that case you could be 40 out of 100 and still have a 3.95 and a 95th percentile SAT.
good luck!

4.0 for Ivy schools.
Preferably top 10 of graduating class.
At the least top 10% of class.
There are lots of other great school if this doesn't work for you right now and transferring into an Ivy is not as difficult as getting in as a freshman.
