well I live in a state with lots of cows and I have never seen people wave at cows...
however a couple years back my grandparents came in and my grandfather saw some cows and said to my brother " moo cow kevin moo cow"...my brother was like 12 or 13 years old...it was kinda funny...

Hmmm I have never observed any waving to cows before, and I lived surrounded by a dairy farm. Maybe those are city folk and they haven't learn cow communication.

The cows have feelings to... how would you like it if you had to eat grass and provide milk for humans all day and no one respected you enough to wave at you! lol!!!
My real answer for this question is... that I really don't have an answer to this question, but I guess humans wave automatically withought really realising it until after they have done it.

Because everybody except the butcher and the dairy farmer loves a cow. I love them so much my oddest daughter Melissa is nicknamed Missy Moo Moo and she is only 36 and still answers to it and signs correspondence the same.
