just turned 23 and unfortunately for me i got a job within a month after graduating college, because I was broke and just thought I was ready for the 'real worl'. but now 6 months later, i really regret not taking my time traveling, etc bc now Im stuck in a job that only gives me 2 weeks off! So I am planning a trip to Europe in late August and(in an atempt to keep my job) go for a little under 3 weeks. But after all my convincing, none of my friends can go with me! they are either broke, or not in the place to go.I thought Europe would only be an incredible experience if I had a great friend to go with me and share those memories with... but am I wrong? Do u think I could go alone and still have an amazing time? The good news is that Im very independant, sociable and smart but I always like to be around people. Do u think its worth it, or should I just wait another year or so until one of my frends would be able to go? It would suck to see the eifel tower& not hav an1 2 share it w/..

I went travelling by myself, and while it can be stressful, you just have to laugh at some situations!!! Things to be stressful are getting lost, getting the right tickets and just little things!

In the positive corner you can go where you want....it can be stressful with people who don't want to go to places, moan and complain etc...so there is massive freedom in that.

I found that taking my camera was a good diversion and helped me to remember the things I liked!!! I got some really good photos too and I am proud of them ( i also bought lots of postcards which have better angles, less people who may ruin the shot etc)

You can go again in the future, in fact going for this time can really give you the bug!!!! Having got a taster you can go back an experience things in more detail in the future too!! ( I want to go back and see places again as well as seeing places I never got to see!)

If you want tips, if you get a bit lonely.....1. some day trips to places /out of cities are good ways to meet people, often single travellers...and its a nice way to spend the day, no stress, food is ususally included for full day trips and you get commentry you would not get otherwise.
You don't say where you are going, but I am sure you will have a great time. I would maybe focus less places and see them better than lots of places with less time ( you can miss out on some really great things and sometimes its nice to have some time to meaander!!)
\Travelling to Europe was the only thing I ever REALLY wanted to do, so I know how you feel...I went to please myself.....maybe in the future you will meet someone as keen as you and at the right time in their lives....they don't know what they are missing either!!

if you don´t do it, you may regret AGAIN!
JUST DO IT! I love traveling alone, and let me tell you traveling a lot you meet more people and find more challenging things to do tahn when you have someone with you and stay in the "comfort zone" .
Go and talk to strangers, practice languages, you´ll see how easy is to make new friend and stick to new groups over adn over... Once I found my self alone under the eiffel tower... I was 17 years old you know what i did.... lied down right under it, and took a picture now, it always remind how brave I was walking around Europe at that age alone. But also it reminds me the guys I met right after taking it ;) You can also use the time you´ll have alone, to walk slowly through streets palaces and museums, sit in a café outdoors and read a bit about the place where you+ll stop next.... You will love it. I promess!

For Pete's sake, go! Travel is such a great way to broaden your perspective and enjoy life. While you have the time, the money, and no spouse and children to keep you tied to responsibilities at home, now is the time to see what's out there and meet people from different countries and different walks of life. You will have fun and you will grow a lot.

I always met more people when i traveled alone. I say GO and you'll have a blast!!! Do things that will put you in contact with people, though, like taking trains.
I bet you'll fall in love and not want to leave.
I did! (Several times)

if you fun was based on your friend going then there was no need to go to Europe to have fun. YES you can and will have a great time with or without your friend.
