My uncle did similar things to me but I was not affected like her. I blackmailed him for a long time Actually my sister and I did. We did that from the ages of 7-9. I hated him & he knew it. But I didn't see him as a monster just as a jackass.
He's dead now I did not go to his funeral but I did talk to my aunt she is really sweet but out of the loop. No need to break her heart.
I guess different people handle stuff like that differently plus I was not intimitaded by him.
I think something worse happened to her that you don't know about for her to be that traumatized.

You can always sue him in civil court for damages done. She will need hard evidence that anything really did happen. Shes going to need times, dates, places, etc. Not easy at all and any attorney he gets will eat holes in her testimony. Unfortunately, her mother should have acted on this when she first found out about this. I wish I had a better answer for you but thats the way our legal system works, sorry

I'm sorry that happened to your friend....Yes there are things she can do...I don't understand why the police will not do anything...Let me tell ya this, You go back to the police and you tell them that this guy did this and that you are trying to pertect someone elses child from the same thing...I know for a fact that this man can get into trouble even if its been 50 years....Tell everyone you know what the guy did. Let him go through the **** you had to put up with...

If the police have told her she's can't re open the case well then she can't! sad it is but, she will have to heal herself seek counseling and support. This happens all the time even if he went to jail she would not SUDDENLY be all well no more issues. Getting him punished really won't heal the damage done. it is a good ideal to warn parents she knows to not let their kids be alone with him. Maybe she should call someone for legal advice.

Tell her to get a book written by Dr. Laura Schlessinger. It's called Bad Childhood, Good Life.
My advice is for her to inform everyone she knows that has little kids that hang around there.
Maybe she could file a civil claim against him. Tell her to go to Civil Court, not county court.
Anything she does now as far as her life, it's up to HER to decide.
