felt weird and I had to try it a few times. I don't know if I popped some or of all of my hymen, I have read that it can and cannot be popped using a tampon, but it is this feeling in one spot in my abdomen that almost hurts or feels a little tender. Did part of my hymen rip? What is this? I know it is not cramps.

Your abdomen is probably just feeling tender right now because of your period. Even if you ripped your hymen you would not be feeling it in your abdomen.
The hymen is part of the external genitalia. It is a thin membrane that surrounds or partially covers the vaginal opening. It is possible that tampon use (or sports, a fall etc) can stretch or tear the hymen but most women don't notice. Part of the hymen usually remains until a women has give birth vaginally.
Just relax next time you're trying to insert a tampon. Make sure you are inserting it high enough. If using an applicator hold onto the very bottom of it and insert it until your fingers touch. If inserted high enough you will not be able to feel it.
Don't worry, it takes most girls at least a few tries to get it right.

No honey, you cant pop your hymen from inserting a tampon. You will feel tender in your abdomen because your uterus is changin as you grow into a young woman. When you first insert a tampon it is dry and will hurt if you pull it out too soon. You could be hurting if you have a tilted uterus also. I have a tilted uterus and had trouble learning how to insert it. I actually have to go in at a slight angle. Practice using a small tampon intil you learn how to do it comfortably. Your hymen is way up in your vagina, close to the cervix. Try pulling up some picture on the internet, maybe that would help too.

You may have ripped your hymen but that is doubtful. Usually the hyman only covers a small portion of the vagina. Try a smaller tampon like the slim/slender size. Some women find the tampon is not comfortable with a small flow because the vagina feels too dry. Also, be sure that the tampon is tipped toward the back of your vagina and not pushing on the tip of your uterus. That may cause discomfort. Get a tampon with a lubricated applicator to make it easier to insert. Good luck.

The reason it probalby felt wierd is you did not have it in far enough, next time use an applicator, if you didn't this time and put the applicator in by about a couple of cm.
Your hymen is not in your abdomen so this is not the reason your have cramps, could just be period cramps. Some womens hymen breaks while inserting a tampon but not often!

You probably broke your hymen a while ago by doing other things like exercising, doing cartwheels, anything like that. Your prob tender from the tampon. You have to make sure your not really dry or it will hurt like hell to put in. The reason it hurt when you put it in was prob because u didn't insert it completely. You shouldn't be able to feel it at all. --Cardboard tampons usually hurt more then the plastic ones. The "Pearl" Tampons are good.

Depending on your body and how big the tampon is, your hymen could be riping a little or your vagina could just be adjusting to the tampon. If you have a small body, some tampons might be too big for you right now. I didn't use a tampon for the first few years I had my period. Unless you really need to use one or really want to (I don't know why you'd want to) I would just wait and give your body a few years to develop. Eventually it will fit just fine and be much more comfortable.

I'm not sure about the pain your feeling, but if you ever insert a tampon and can feel it, you haven't inserted it correctly. You did say you "tried" using one today. Are you actually on your period? Because if you try to insert a tampon when your NOT menstruating, it could be a little painful, especially when you go to pull it out. Make sure you follow the directions on the box until you get the hang of it. Hope this helps!

That spot in your abdomen may be your cervix. Since you weren't in the mood, you didn't stretch and it may have bumped you. I could never wear those things--they were too uncomfortable to me. When you insert, try to direct it toward your back and stop when it feels uncomfy. And don't worry about the hymen so much.
