i have a plecostomus fish that is getting pretty aggressive twords my gold fish. I dont know if it is the size of the fish tank or the size of the fish that it is doing that. I have it in a ten gallon fish tank and he is about have the length of that. Should i give it away to some one who has a bigger fish tank?

The lil guy needs a bigger tank. I have the exact same prob only my pleco isn't as big yet (he will go to the bigger tank once he gets big enough). Mine was sucking on the goldfish and so I started giving it Algae tabs and it stopped - he was hungry! lol... But with yours being so big, he needs a new tank - these fish CAN kill other fish so you need to get him a bigger home. If you can't find a place for him privately, most local fish stores will take him and find him a good home. (I would recommend staying away from chain stores though - i.e. Petsmart, Petco, Walmart)
If you like the pleco's and only have the one small tank - try clown plecos. They stay small enough to keep in a 10gal and do just as good a job as the regular plecostomus.
Hope this helped!!

common or other plecos will outgrow almost a 30 g , even a dwarf or bristle nose that stay young are too big in adult size for a 10g so be care full hes doing that coz he needs his space, as you mentioned you can find him a better home or exchange it with 2 corydoras cat fish or 4 kuhli loaches, but btw do you have a heater in the tank or is it a cold water one if so thats the problem, goldfish is commonly for cold water and pleco is tropical temp 24 - 27 degrees,

He is as big as a ten gallon tank! Wow. Yes, I am sure he would enjoy more room. Also does he have anything to eat. Ya can purchase algae tablets for them to eat. He is way too big for your tank for sure. Sell him to a local pet shop.

if it is that long, it needs a much bigger tank. It's aggressive because of the small space.

You need algae tablets. Placothtamis are attracted to the slime coat of a goldfish and will try to suction their sides. He's hungry. Feed him tablets!!!
