Do you play basketball? How old are you? If your in your teens or 20's I'd be surprised if you can't dunk. At 6'5" and 210lb., you should be able to dunk. That's not a bad weight, as long as most of it's muscle. Speaking of muscle, strengthen your legs for vertical jump, some people just can't jump. so work on it. Squats with weight will help, I don't suggest ankle weights however. Do some plyometric exercises, and don't just focus on your legs, but your whole body. Go running, play basketball or do track or something. I'm pretty sure you use your core for pretty much everything (abdominals). If you wanna be a better basketball player, dunking is not the most important thing, but if you wanna be a good basketball player, you should be athletic enough to dunk at that height. Just work on getting stronger, but don't try too much at once, build your way up gradually or you'll be discouraged. Start small. Working out can be fun if you don't stress out too much about it. Losing weight doesn't necessarily mean fitter. You probably will at first because of fat loss, but through muscle gain you'll weigh more. (muscle weighs more than fat, i'm sure you've heard that before). When you can dunk you'll have to let everyone know!

If you can grab the rim with both hands there is no reason why you shouldn't be dunking. Work on your timing and try and dunk with your four fingers, not using your thumb. As for jumping higher, leg presses work well. You want power, so more weight, less reps.

Haha thats unheard of. If you can grab the rim with 2 hands, you should be dunking with at least 1. You've got a great advantage to dunk with your height and you aren't heavy. But here's how to jump higher.

1. Squat some more. Quads are very very important to jumping higher.

2. Calf raises. Calves are key to your vertical

3. Hamstrings curls. Strengthen the hamstrings.

4. Abs. Key to almost everything

5. Groin. Do butterfly stretches

6. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, STRETCH.

i know somebody that is just 5'3" and can dunk one hand and both hands its crazy and hard to believe but its true. first time i saw him dunk it was unreal i was shocked and amazed. well hes not skinny and nor medium built but in the middle. ur 6'5" and even if your 210 pound i couldnt hardly believe u cant dunk. well just buy some of those work out dvd's that increase ur vertical leap it helps but u have to spend a lil bit of money for it but again 6'5" 210 pounds no offense but its a shame that u cant dunk. well if you have the will and determination into ur goal to be able to dunk. thats like abc easy as 123 for you man cuz ur tall.

You need very badly to strengthen your legs. You especially need to work on explosiveness. Squats will help strengthen your legs, but will also bulk you up...not good for jumping. Cycling is a better overall in your situation.

A volleyball exercise that will help you: Put a piece of tape on a wall in the gym (for you, at 10'). Do sets of 10 reps jumping and hitting the piece of tape as fast as you can. This will improve your jumping, and your ability to jump quickly, like when the ball is bouncing around on the rim.

I am little bit shorter then you and weight about 40 pounds less. I can grab rim with two hands too. The problem you probably are having is holding on to the ball because thats the problem for me. Just do squishy ball squeezes when your not doing anything and after A while your grip will be strong enough for you to hold on to the ball one handed.

Squats and Crunches. Also, try jumping closer to the rim, a lot of people try to jump from too far away causing them to leap more outward than upward. Common mistake, easily fixed. Good Luck.

There is a thing called VertiMax. It improves on how high you jump. Do it for a week and you will so be high enough. If you cant get VertiMax try jumping every day for about 15-20 min. Try to get higher every time! It really works!

6'5 and can't dunk? damn that is sad bro. You are a little on the heavy side. Just drop some pounds and work on your hops, you'll be above the rim in no time.
