Don't know about NC. I live in Oregon. But I plant squash, pumpkins, etc. as late as July 1. Also I plant successive plantings of beets, green beans, carrots every 3 weeks through summer. Lettuce & spinach don't do well when it gets hot.

Some people also grow gourds for sale to carvers. Most of those should do well.

Try asking at your local nursery. They can tell you more about your particular locale. Read the back of seed packages. It will tell you how many days to harvest. Good luck. But better get it in gear quickly if you're going to get anything worth selling.

You are a bit late. The last of everything has already gone into the ground. You can try to plant garden center leftovers, but actually getting a harvest from them may not happen because the plants need a certain amount of time in the right temps in order to produce. Most gardeners start in May and even earlier like February with seed. Good Luck

You could buy all sorts of plants that are already fruiting. It costs more, but unless you do that your too late. I'm already harvesting some stuff.
