The only World Series they'll be in this year is the World Series of Poker.
They'll have time on their hands (poker hands, that is) in October/November.

I think Yankee fans should stop worrying about winning the World Series and start worrying about making it into the playoffs. I think the AL division is the toughest and most competitive it has been in years. The Red Sox, Tigers, Indians, and Angels are definetely playoff-worthy teams, and they would be the four into the playoffs right now. I think the Yankees and the Athletics will make a run, but fall short.

No they are not going to ,not saying they don't have the talent to make it to the playoffs, thier team is built around hitting and pounding teams but as you see of late their not hitting ,they are either pounding teams or losing close games. They have struggling starters in the beginning of the year which put them in the whole, even with the starters now they are struggling to eat up innings therefore using the bull pen which has been overused. The yanks are very in cosistent this year good pitching / no hitting , no pitching / good hitting , they need to be able to win a game 2-0 ,1-0 ,3-1 when you cant win games like that you wont make the playoffs.

Not very likely, and really, anyone over the age of five or six has seen it, multiple times, in living memory. Just pull out the 1996, 1998, 1999, or 2000 DVD recaps, fire one up, and imagine being there.
I'd rather see a different story, myself.

Well...
First, they need to win a few games and get into the playoffs.
They could win this year; they have the offense (when it isn't sleep walking) and the pitching (when Clemens isn't over-heated or starved for oxygen), BUT I would not put money on it.

I am in no way a baseball fan but they will not even make the playoffs so they have no chance.
