statistically, the chances of getting preggers after a tubal are very remote. Notice I didn't say "zero" chances? There have been a few cases where the tubes grew back together and the woman got preggers. The odds are about the same for a man who has a vasectomy having things regrow and be able to impregnate a female.

Yep, have a cousin who got pregnant after a tube ligation. Things happen, we are not perfect, you know.
There are different methods to perform this.

The Pomeroy involves the creation of a loop in the fallopian tube, which is tied off. The loop is cut out. The tie is made of a material typically used in internal surgeries that the body can break down and absorb. When this happens, the two ends of the tube fall apart. The danger is that they will re-attach, or the egg or sperm can cross the gap, resulting in a regular or more likely an ectopic pregnancy. This is why two other procedures, the Irving and the Uchida, move the ends of the tubes away from each other. There are also devices that block the tubes. The Hulka clip and the silastic falope ring are used to clamp the tube.

So if you are considering this procedure, look for info about the last 2 methods, just to be sure.

Her little girl is 7 now. And she did get the clip along with the ligation.

I have had my tubes tied, and yes it is possible to get pregnant after having done so. However, it is not very likely. I don't know anyone who has gotten pregnant, but I have heard about it. You always have to remember so far no one has found any form of birth control that is 100%, there is always a chance you can get pregnant. A tubal ligation is a bout as close to 100% child free as you can get so I would not worry about your chances of getting pregnant, you are safer then you would be with any other form of birth control, and there is almost no chance your body will reverse the procedure.

My sister had one 7 years ago and nothing has happened to her. Odds are you are in the clear but there is that one in a million chance.
