How is Kurt Cobain a legend? What has he done besides play music. I think the only good thing he has ever done was put the shotgun to his mouth. That the only reason everyone considers him a legend, because he took the easy way out. Ohhh, look at me I'm rich and famous, I get credit where credit ISN'T due. Well the only thing that came from him, is ****-Face from Preacher.

People seem to overlook the fact that there were a ton of grunge band coming out of Seattle during that period of time. Nirvana was just easily marketable and were able to get the backing they needed. Once the media picked up on them they exploded. Every where you looked you saw Nirvana. It's always sad when only the front man gets the glory. The other band members added a lot to Nirvana, Kurt couldn't have achieve his fame with out them. He has had a lasting image cast on society only because he shot himself. If he were still alive, I doubt that he would have the same amount of fame. That's just the ebb and flow of music popularity. There is no way he could achieve true legend status on talent alone. His songs were monotonous and his lyrics were infantile, and face it, his voice wasn't all that hot either. 80% of the time he couldn't be understood. Who wants to whip out the lyrics sheet just to sing along? I'm not saying that it wasn't something nice to listen to, and at the time, it rocked for a lot of people. But i have to wonder if alot of that isn't just stoners connecting with stoners. but I digress.
And as for who killed him, if there had been enough evidence that it wasn't suicide, the police would have pursued that avenue given the media attention on the case.
If you read the book "hyperactivity hoax", you'd know that Kurt suffered from severe chronic stomach pains, he was doped up all the time, so its no surprise that after facing the trials of fame and the pressures of life and constant nagging pain, that he over did the drugs and took his life.

Kurt Cobain was a legend in his own mind ....until he blew out with a shotgun. Yes, I too believe Courtney Love was at least partially involved in Kurt's death, he came down from one of his heroin highs and saw what he married. I think anybody would have done the same.
The main thing I'm pissed about is when this overblown rocker drug addict commits suicide and it's front page news, at the same time Frank Zappa who did have a HUGE influence to many musicians dies of cancer and it gets a small article in the want adds. Grrrrrrrr!

Dying young makes musicians legends. I think Kurt Cobain was an extremely talented musician, but Dave Grohl also deserves a lot of the credit from Nirvana's success.

I think his music was good...thats about it though. I dont see what made him a lagend either. he did take the easy way out when everyone in the world has problems. you just need to learn to face them. I cant say anything really bad about him as I never knew him to be able to comment, but I dont think he deserves the attention and respect of being called a legend. now my husband on the other hand may begg to differ.

It replaced into approximately timing, it replaced into approximately music being interior the rest room and wanting a somebody to assert it. i'm undecided how previous you're (to not be condescending, yet to establish the context of it. it fairly is posible which you would be too previous too), yet Nirvana replaced into someway music all of the youngsters of the time could desire to get into. It replaced right into a phenominon and a diverse shift in music. reckoning on what you're into, in case you like modern-day rock you are able to desire to thank Nirvana. They geared up it. very resembling the Beatles, yet for sure to a lesser quantity each rock band that got here after Nirvana replaced into inspired by them. They sound distinctive by way of fact Nirvana took place. As for the suicide, say what you will, yet he wasn't meant for the repute he won. think of approximately it, repute isn't unavoidably this remarkable factor, rather for somebody who did not choose it. He could not cope with all the attention and the strain which replaced into super.are you able to think of living a life-time of NO privateness. seem on the stars of as we communicate. Cameras, screaming followers and individuals who do in comparison to you around each nook and it under no circumstances stops. He wasn't geared up to handle that. additionally, it wasn't his suicide that made him a legend. perchance it preserved him (he under no circumstances have been given the prospect to pull a Rolling Stones and get too previous yet refuse to hold it up). he's a legend by way of fact while Nevermind got here out each thing replaced.

I think he's considered a legend cause he help bring a new genre into the mainstream.
I was never much of a Nirvana fan though, there have been much better bands and guitarist, but those who die young always become part of the hall of fallen heroes.

Well, in my opinion Cobain was an incredible talent. He was a brilliant songwriter, had a unique voice, and was a good guitarist. And quite frankly, I believe Courtney Love was involved in his death, if he just wanted to kill himself, he would have OD'ed on heroin. But that's just my opinion.

Thank god somebody has the right opinion. Kurt Cobain is waaaaaaay overrated. He's not the worst musician but a legend? Come on! You people have got to be kidding me. He did nothing great to be considered a legend. You are right. People only worship him because he took the easy way out.

Whether you like his music or not, plenty of people were greatly influenced by it. While I don't think he was technically a great guitar player, he was a decent songwriter. I don't consider him a legend though.
