My mom tried to kill herself, again. The hospital let her go, again. She has a history of nervous breakdowns, mental health "issues" and violent behavior. She fakes horrible things just for attention. She plays the Drs. & they keep letting her go. In WI u can't commit someone against their will and she refuses to get help. I have been dealin w/this for 20yrs. & can't handle it anymore! I have kids of my own that I need to protect and care for. My sisters disappear whenever mom has an episode leaving me to deal w/her. But then the criticize the way things r handled. I want out! I put in my time now it's their turn to step up and do something! I want to file the order and live in peace!

You have to protect your children and your sanity. Your mother and quite possibly your sisters will be angry over you for doing this. You will have to deal with the fallout from that.

Keep in mind, you have to convince a judge there is grounds to issue a restraining order. I don't know what the requirements are in WI. Some places you have to show there would be danger or other significant reasons why you need to keep someone away.

This is a sad story and no real happy ending.

Do you go to a church or synagogue?
get them involved. Bring them to talk to the doctors and hold the doctors accountable.

It takes the power of prayer more than the power of a restraining order. The 700 Club Prayer Counselors are available 24 hours a day at (800) 759-0700. the call is free

A restraining order i believe will not help so much as divide unless you feel there is a chance of danger to your kids , her grandkids. Remember the kids are watching how you handle this.
Where is the men in this situation? Your Father and the kids father? There needs to be a strong man come to the plate and say enough is enough. May Yeshua/Jesus Bless you and keep you in HIS protective care.

No matter what. If you fear for the safety of your children do whatever it takes to keep her away. Restraining orders are a good start. If she lives on her own just worry about keeping you and your family safe. If her behavior is as you say, soon she will do something and will be forced into a hospital or jail. When the doctors or hospital release her refuse responsibility. She is an adult and you don't have to take her. As for your sisters. Show them the door to. Old saying- Put up or shut up. Good luck

Let her go. Keep her out of your life. It is the right thing to do. You can not help her or save her.
