Not really.
He wasn't alone.
And it doesn't explain his preternatual mastery of his own strike zone, his refusal to swing at bad pitches and draw record-setting numbers of walks.
The most astounding stat Bonds has put up in the last ten years? His .609 OBP in 2004. He was playing like he'd been sent down from a higher league. Steroids doesn't explain that.

Yes, I do. Hank Aaron was such an amazing player, and person. He earned that record. Barry Bonds is a great player, certainly, but it does seem very likely that he used some illicit substances in order to increase his home run production. He's never tested positive, but there is some pretty overwhelming evidence against him. And I hate to see Aaron's record, one that he gained through hard work and had to endure much to attain, broken by someone who has taken a short cut. This record will always have an asterisk, and I look forward to the day when someone like Albert Pujols will take this record away from him. I guess I'd just like people to pay attention to baseball for the good reasons again. Bonds puts such a negative light on a beautiful sport.

No the man is still the greatest hitter of all time. I dont think people understand exactly what steroids do. They do make you stronger. But you still have to work twice as hard in the weight room for them to make you stronger. And doing steroids will not automatically make you able to hit a homerun in a major league baseball game let alone over 700. You still have to have an amazing swing, a great work ethic, and just be a natural hitter.

No, I don't. Major League Baseball looked the other way for way too long for them to choose Bonds as their fall guy the in "steroid scandal". People were using them long before he did (allegedly). He just happens to be one of the most talented baseball players ever, even before steroids, and that makes him stand out from all the rest. Technically, Babe Ruth used a bat that would be illegal by today's standards.

Not really. He only hurts himself. I think he did do roids, but not his whole career and people scream about he should not be allowed in the Hall of Fame, but I see it this way. Out of the 749 homers he has hit so far, how many did he do while on roids. If you penalized him 50 or 75 or even 100 homer he still hit an unbelievable amount anyway and is continueing to hit more. I do not like Bonds but he is one of the best to ever play the game.

I don't care if he took em or not. But, I do care about paying money to see a MLB game and knowing that all of the players are performing on a level playing field.
If some players feel like they need to gain an illegal advantage through the use of steroids (or whatever), that's cheating.
I really don't need to throw my hard earned money at a tarnished game.

I agree with Sprelletz. It sucks that he can come along, cheat by taking steroids, and then beat the records of the greatest players in baseball history.
