how long does it take to get a criminal background check done for a job??? in two countys?

i went and applied for a job last wed. she told me to come in thur. and sign some **** for a criminal background check! well i called her today and she has gotten the drug test back but not the background....how lond does it usually take if they have to check in like 2 county's(side by side) might i add.
