When the dems cannot win in the current polls with these candidates and the country is in this bad of shape, why do the party elite stay behind these two losers?

What am I? I am not taking 10s of millions of dollars from people when common wisdom states I cannot be elected as president. What I am is a tax paying, voting citizen who would like to see real candidates with real agendas, not wimps that sneak into the senate floor to vote on the Iraq bill. By the way these two powerhouses could not motivate their fellow dems to do what they said they woud do at election time.

You may be, but most are not finished considering them. (I'd guess most have not really started considering them, being elections are still months off.) Both seem viable at this point, and neither losers.
(If these people are losers, what are you?)

You'd prefer a spineless sychophant like Edwards?
Seriously, Hilary is entirely capable of being a competent President, and Obama at least has the kind of charisma and idealism that has been badly lacking in the office for... wow, a really long time... Clinton was charismatic, but he was as cynical and corrupt a politician as ever lived. Carter was idealistic, but tremendously unpopular while in office.
I guess Reagan was both, though it'd be hard for many to accept his brand of idealism.

I wish they were done. Another year and a half of these two and I may jump off a cliff. Why can't democrats give us a good viable candidate? Can't find one that is right now and that makes me angry. Republican candidates aren't any better yet we can't beat them right now. Something is wrong. We need a fix and quickly. Who can save us?

Well, if the Clintons reclaim the Presidency, at least we'll know what we're getting.
They did just leave there.
Nobody will be able to say they didn't know what to expect.
