NO. The pad will get soaked with water, and get really big and heavy and drip water, so it will be totally obvious to everyone that you're wearing one.
You can go to the pool without swimming - just wear shorts and explain you're not swimming today and glare at anyone who ask questions - the girls will understand and the boys will be too embarassed to press the issue.
Talk to your Mom again about using tampons - there really is no reason why you can't use tampons at any age. If she still won't agree, suggest you both dicuss the matter with your doctor, and agree to follow whatever your doctor suggests.

No, you can't. If you can't wear a tampon (which I totally do not understand -- since if you're old enough to have your period, you're old enough for a tampon)......... then you will have to look cute in your suit and lay on the lounge chair. You can not get in the pool with a pad! It doesn't matter how light your flow is.
First of all, it will expand (due to absorbing water) then it will look like a diaper or mattress, then lose its adhesive and could fall out -- now how embarrassing would that be in front of your BF and his friends?!?!?!
You can have fun anyway!!!!

No, trying to swim with a pad can create other problems. I would suggest just sitting at the edge of the pool and putting your feet in the water. This is what I often did whenever I would go to my uncle's house and go to his pool.

No!!!
Pads in water... bad. Take one and put it in the tub, and you'll see why. It gets huge with water, and then it breaks apart rather easily, you'll be shedding chunks everywhere. Also, it'll make your bathing suit puff out and you'll look like you've got something that no female should have.
Try to get a tampon, whatever way you can. If you're old enough to have a period, you're old enough to have a tampon. That's what they're made for.

NO!!! I really wouldn't recommend going with a pad...imagine it like a diaper...it swells up and might loose it's stick when wet...If you can't use tampons I would recomend just hanging out with your friends, dangle you legs in the pool and lay out but I really wouldn't go in with a pad on. Might turn into somthing really embaressing. Hope you have a super time!

I have done it in my own home pool. Just make certain there are bathroom facilities around so you can change pads. I believe that you should wear shorts over you suit and put a big bandage on your arm. Tell everyone you can't get your arm wet, and forget about swimming. If your friends know, it will gross them out!

I don't think it would be a good idea for you to wear a pad to swim in...it will absorb the water and then it will be noticeable and you will be completely embarrassed. I don't think it would be noticeable if you were to stay out of the water though. This is one of those times in life when having a period really stinks.

The pad will become very soggy, and may fall out due to the increased weight from the water. Use the smallest size tampon, and don't push it in too far.

I dont recommend it. Next thing you know there'll be a pad or a piece of it floating in the pool. I suggest you sit this one out.

Well you *could*, but it would be useless. The water would carry away the discharge before it ever reached the pad, leading to mighty embarassing situations. Sorry.
