Top of the line 2003 BMW 530i, fully loaded with 35000 miles, or a brand new 2008 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon?? Two very different, but very cool both in their own right!!!!

BMW, it's a lot nicer and much more reliable. It also has more power and will be much funner to drive. In addition, it's already dealt with deprecation, so if you want to sell it, you won't lose that much, while you will lose almost 50% on the Jeep.

I thought top of the line BMW's were 700 series? Cars are always a better buy over some weird looking SUV type vehicle. SUV stands for "SU icide V ehicle" in case you missed the news flash.

It all depends on how much money you have to throw away and how much liability you like to assume with your driving machine and how long you plan on keeping it.

Get an estimate on brake jobs for both vehicles and you might end up paying as much for the 2WD BMW as you woiuld for a 4WD SUV. And tires sand other typical wear and tear items that you will have to replace every so often.
This alone might scare you into buying a Cadillac Deville.

I prefer luxury in a big American boat to a buck-board-like ride in a sports car or SUV.

BMW's dont' seem to have a long life in the US due to untreated bodies (rust proofing) like the US cars and trucks. A BMW is bascially an over priced Volkswagen.

A Jeep is basically an over priced World War II M151 "Jeep".

Try a Cadillac for a day and you'll be hooked.

Good Luck!

I'd go with the BMW, it's a much nicer vehicle and it's a better deal because it's not new and has taken the major hit of depreciation. Wranglers ride like trucks anyway, and the BMW should be glassy smooth driving.

Well, I'm a girl, so I would DEFINITELY rather have the BMW.
I have owned a Jeep (Grand Cherokee) and it was very unreliable.
