If by best you mean most powerful then the best superhero is Franklin Richards a.k.a. The Avatar from the fantastic four. Second to him is Onslaught who is a mix of Professor X and Magneto. The third strongest is X-Man who is scott summers and jean grey's kid.
No super man is not the most powerful. He's been defeated many many times before. (not only with the use of kryptonite). Besides, Batman carries kryptonite on his utility belt just incase. And we all know when superman is in human form he can't fight worth ****.
In my opinion the "best" superheroeS are
Batman - He's human, yet somehow he can fight all of the same villains as all the super-humans/aliens/robots. He's so badass. Dark, mysterious. Plus he kills when needed unlike most heroes.
Spawn- Not only is he the coolest looking but he's one of the most powerful. His armor gives him protection and a "spider-sense" like parker. He can **** you up with his chains or his axe "Agony" which can cut through almost any substance known to man. His cape allows him to fly, go invisable and even creat vehicles. - besides, many may not know, but in the war between God and The Devil, Spawn kills both armies and creates an entirely new world. So he's Tougher than God and Seiten mixed.
Wolverine- Cummon, he is the definition of badass. Almost impossible to kill. Once a cold-hearted killer. All the guys wanna be like him and all the girls wanna screw him.

The best Superhero in the whole cosmic world thingymajig is the "Living Tribunal" who has surpassed god-hood, the most powerful on earth is the silver surfer who has super-speed, strength and power and has a near godlike level, strength-wise it's the Hulk, mentally Professer X/ Charles Xavier, magically Dr. Strange/Sorcerer Supreme of the Earth, #2nd on Earth is Thor, he's a god, #3rd is Superman, he's a solar-powered super-fighter, 4th is Wonder Woman who has powers like Superman, 5th is Flash, he can vibrate through people, can charge them, hit them multiple times per second, etc., etc. 6th is Dr. Strange, nuf said. 7th is Spawn, he's a demon from hell, come on. 8th again Proffeser X. 9th Firestorm. 10th Hulk, brawn usually needs help from brain

The Silver Surfer hands down. Superman would be the best but the Silver Surfer has the ability to change his and others molecules so he could easily change Superman's outfit into full Kryptonite making Superman useless.

Goku....He's the greatest true hero ever created...He's always trained,battled ,and even dies to obtain his power.. If Goku never had a single super power he would still try to save the day knowing he could die...He even tells villians just because i'm strong makes me no better than anyone else...He's best friend a loving father a fierce warrior,and a true warrior...Goku unlike anyother hero has a heart not even surpassed by his awsome strength.His series should have never ended....He's so great that his make up will never ever stop becoming stronger because we are left with knowing that even in his afterlife he'll still be training even showed him Sparring in the future with Vageta......Goku is the greatest hero ever unlike our current mainstream heros he earned his power it was never granted to him by a big battery,or fruit that substains life like That norse God or didn't use gamma anything to be as powerful as he is....Goku is the best ever e's probably the most powerful hero that never had his powers granted to him by some accident or circumstance,He gained them by his heritage and training his but off to be able to waste galaxies and lift cities no artificial power boost for him.He has a heart for every living creature ,love for everyone and unlinke anyother hero he has a pure heart no evil within it.Plus he shows mercy to the deadliest of villians.And he believes that even though he is strong he is no better than you or me.Goku is a true hero he will sacrifice his life for anyone ,even if he had no powers he'd fight for anyone.Who needs gadgets and gems and gloves to obtain power when you can gain it through your own determination and grit.Thats Goku.He is the greatest hero ever created..end of story

Superman is really the only superhero you need. He can fly, he's strong, he's bullet-proof, he can melt stuff with his eyes, he can freeze stuff with his breath, he can turn back time by flying around the earth backwards, he can even stop freakin' nuclear warheads and fly them back into space before they explode. What else could you possibly need in a superhero???

d best suprhero wud b sum1 hu can manipulate forces, sum1 wit xtraordinary powers...i wud say it wud be d mutants of x-men.. and aside from the skills and the guts, it wud hav 2 be a gorgeous, hot & sexy superhero also. sum1 hu cud not only amazed us by its powers but by its looks also..
d first dat wud come in my lists wud b the weathrwitch; storm. although less appreciation is commented abwt her coz shes black..still her powers is simply amazing.. f u hav dat power 2 manipulate nature then its lyk u own the world.

these weak heroes r just mere ants 4 storm she cud easily eliminate and kill them wit a simple stroke of lightning or a strong vortex of wind. or just drop the temperature and freeze them.
