You will find that modern cars, the mileage is just a vague indicator of usage. Also be weary of extended warranty. Many people online say that their engine would die and the warranty company re-nag on the warranty because you can't prove all regular maintenance.
My brother bought a used BMW and had high mileage maintenance done. The BMW now recommends 15K mile oil drain (with synthetic oil). That's crazy. Real crazy.
Just have a mechanic take a look the car and insist on having the valve covers taken off and check for oil sludge. That is a major source of modern engine damage. In my experience BMW engines are real expensive to fix and / or replace. And as long as the engine and the transmission are in good working order, the car is worth fixing again and again.
The good news is that all other "non power train" parts are only 1 to 2 years old (body, electrical, AC, etc.). And with certain parts (like the body) the corrosion and such, only the year matter (not mileage).

Have the dealer to a thorough pre-purchase insection on the car. If everything checks out, and if the price is right, go for it.

Wow, the seller drove the crap out of that car. It makes me rather worried. At the very least you should ask for maintenance records to verify that it was properly maintained.

I wouldn't worry about the mileage. Check www.edmunds.com to see what it's worth.
