Two words: Don Nelson
Lets not forget, this guy coached Dirk for a long time. so he knew exactly what too throw at him and how to get in his head (and not just Nowitski all the Mavs)
G.S has a lot of small, quick guys. the kind of guys that really bug Nowitski (and Don Nelson knew it!).
If Dallas had played anybody else, (yes, even the Spurs) it would have been a series, but they had the rotten luck of playing the one team that had their number and was the hottest coming into the playoffs.
As for Dirk undeserving of MVP, my opinon is he had a career year. and he was the best pick (remember, the MVP is just for the regular season).

anybody who said dirk didn't deserve MVP is retarded. he was the best player on the best team in the regular season...by far. to not have an MVP come from a team that went on 3 12+ game winning streaks and finish w/ one of the best record of all time would be a travesty.
don't talk about changing when they hand out the award just because one guy had a bad first round. it's a regular season award. at times during the regular season, dirk looked unstoppable. people were even comparing him to larry bird. what he does in the playoffs doesn't matter. he choked. everyone knows he choked. he let down his team when they needed him most. i'm from dallas so i needed him more than any of you guys. but don't bash him; he's human. have you ever choked when everyone was watching you? of course you have. and certainly don't call him a nazi.
if anybody has anything to say, feel free to email me.

I dont know how else to say this. The MVP award is for the regular season, Playoffs have their own MVP award. That said, Nowitzki was playing against himself. Don Nelson knew exactly how to tear dirk down simply coz he build dirk. That coupled with many mistakes that avery made, going in the playoffs with no momentum all factored in. All the people dumping on Dirk now were in love with him during the season. I wonder how many people broke their feet jumping off the dirk bandwagon.

Get over it, whoever you are. Dirk is the MVP of the SEASON, not FINALS or even ALL-STAR. I hope you do know how to understand the differences between these three. And, for your 411, Dirk was the best in the 2006-2007 Season. YES he was th BEST, NOT Steve Nash or LBJ. Dirk is the best player on the best team, and he brought the team to greater heights, somewhere the team had never been before. Where do you think Dallas Mavericks will be without Dirk?

with the stupid Nazi comment, you have just proven that you are a 2 bit horrible person with no character. people have become such ******* today, they dont watch what they say.
exactly. u said it. "Lebron isnt MVP".
No matter how he did in the playoffs, the Mavs had the best season record. thats why He was the REGULAR SEASON MVP. there is a difference between the season MVP and the playoffs/finals mvp.
you didnt know that before.
now you do.
have a nice day.

Because as talented as Dirk is, he's soft. If I was him, when my jumper was off, I would have called for the ball on the block, he may not be TD or KG but size wise he is capable of that and especially against G.S. He was like invisible out there, if he was more aggressive like fellow German, Detlef Schrempf, G.S. would not have won and his MVP award wouldn't be questioned...

Not all German's are Nazi's dipshi_t. And the guy above me is right, the MVP award is for the regular season. Kareem Abdul Jabbar won the award one year and his team didn't even make the playoffs. Your making females everywhere look bad with this question. How can I take you seriously?

Well smartypants, unless you know something the rest of us don't, Dirk's not a nazi, and that sort of comment has no place here.
He is, however a European player raised up in the style of team play. That is what failed him in the playoffs, which in the NBA are geared toward "superstars" and isolations.

I can agree with John D on that one. He is wrong about Andruw Jones but right on this one.
Why do you like using racial slurs? If somebody said "Why did Lebron the ______ ... supposedly one of the best players in the league... only score 15 points in a playoff game against S.A.?
Get my point? It would be a uproar up in here. Considering your avatar you would be pretty pissed off. So don't be ignorant please.
