I always let the sunshine, unless some unexpected huge blimp passes my window for a few seconds creating total darkness.

when i'm in a good mood, i'll open the blinds.
but when i just want to sit down, watch some tv and chill alday, i'll keep the blinds closed(it gets REALLY dark at my house when the blinds are closed..)

depends on the room. My room I keep dark and cold like a cave, same with my basement. But the main level I keep bright, open and beautiful for any guests that come over!
