Fart..which causes the esophagus to back up and create an air pocket that transverses the epidectoronmy..and moves down into the auxillary follaboulus tube into the intestines..which in turn creates a vaccuum which reduces the back pressure of the esophagus area and brings resolution and restitution to the one suffering the hiccups....if u believe that...I have some swamp water land for u in Flordia. lol I have a degree in BSostity level 4 from Hoover-Read College which doesn't exist. lol
I just drink a glass of milk...until I feel the pressure of the hiccups go. I usually get the hiccups from eating too fast.
God bless u,
Daniel

Hiccups are actually a skip in the diaphram of your lungs and you are trying to stop the skip or hiccup. The best way I have done that is to reach up very high (I usually grab a doorframe over head) and hold my breath for ten seconds, then while still holding your breath take 10 sips of water, (hold your nose so you can't cheat) until you can't hold your breath any longer and you feel as if your lungs will burst. This actually forces your lungs to stop skipping and go back to normal breathing. I hope that makes sense and helps, it always helps me...

I used to have my brother scare me, but it never worked. I tried holding my breath and drinking lots of water. It was time consuming, quite annoying, and it never seemed to be effective. I couldn't find anyway to stop the hiccups by my own actions. That was until I found the perfect way to stop the hiccups!
Put sugar on a spoon and put it under your tongue for a few seconds, and your hiccups stop instantly.

Hold my breath for 20 seconds then slowly release.
Cannot hiccup while holding your breath or it wont work. Have to start over.

Stick my index fingers in my ears. My pinkies squeeze close my nose and hold my breath for a while then slowly exhale. Works like a charm every time.

Hold your hands together and stretch your arms up over your head until you feel your esophagus...streeetch.
You'll probably have to move your arms back and forth a little until you feel the stretch. Then, hold your arms in that position until your esophagus relaxes.
Should stop the spasms, or at least reduce them.
