The starting bid is more than it's worth i think...but it's so hard to find a Chevy pickup w/ a manual transmission...what do you think?

Manuel: Keep in mind, only the engine has 60,000 miles, because it's a crate motor. The truck itself has 190,000....

If the 350 motor had to be replaced with a crate motor at 130,000 miles, you can be sure that it was a maintenance issue, The truck was not maintained properly. It has rust, and the interior is not perfect.
The only way I would pay $2000 for that truck is if it had $1200 in cash under the seat!
I would not buy it!!

NO! here's why. 196,000 on drive chain except engine, that means lots of wear on the 5 speed tranny (which are know to problematic) lots of wear on suspension, has had previous rust fixed and still has rust on the bed, needs a new seat, has a crate engine which is fine but it has headers a new carb and true dual exhuast which means that there is a 95% chance that this truck will not pass a state inspection or emissions test.

It seems tough, it doesnt seem worth it, but it does only have 60K miles. That seems curious considering how old it is. Also, it looks pretty worn out. Although GM's (Chevrolet's owner) quality is good right now they weren't doing so good in the 90s.
I would have to say no. The starting bid does seem too high. Contact the seller and ask some questions and if you're still interested ask him to lower the starting bid.

No. I wouldn't bid on that truck. I wouldn't pay more than $150 for it. It's not worth anything anymore.

well, here is my thoughts, the engine seems capable of breathing ok with the exhaust and intake work.. but why do you want a quick truck with a manual tranny? also is it tranny with granny or a 5 speed?

book value on this is $1,100 but considering it has a new 350 in it i think $2000 is acceptable since chevy parts are cheap and easy to change a new 5.7L 350 cost $1,500 from chevy

no way, it has 196000 miles, it's old and it has rust. If you get it I bet it won't last a couple of weeks and then you will be putting more money into it. Save your money
