yesterday i bought Guid Wars Factions (i alredy own Prophecies), so i created an assassin who is currently level 4 and now i dont know what second class should i choose, i alredy heard of how are second classes in assasin but i'm still not sure, i was thinking about Assassin/Ranger and Assassin/Monk
i heard that A/R can pull the monsters with the bow and then attack with daggers, heal myself and also tame pets
but also the monk as 2nd class can be helpful for me and party members
so my questions are:
Whitch should i choose?
if i choose ranger as my second will i be able to heal myself? (i dont now very much about that class so i ask that about healing)
and i be able to tame pets? can they (the pets) be very helpful for assassins?

To be honest, I find going pure assassin to be the best, but if you want to choose either between Ranger or Monk then I would recommend A/Mo.

I'll write up a quick list of advantages to both and tips on how to use them if you choose it.

A/R (personally I think an R/A would be better)
Advantages
-Able to tame a pet
-Able to use skills like troll unguent to heal self (not that useful)
Disadvantages
-Unable to use expertise
-Having a pet wouldnt really be that useful
Tips
-You don't need a ranger secondary to use a bow
-If using a pet, be sure to balance the number of attack skills you have for it with the number you have for yourself
-I would recommend using more assassin skills than ranger, seeing as how it is your primary

A/Mo
Advantages
-Able to use spells such as mending on self to maintain health
-Good for quick heals in case skills such as shadow refuge fail
Disadvantages
-The assassin's energy won't allow it to cast that many spells
-No divine favor benefit
Tips
-If playing a monk secondary don't set up your bar as if you were planning on healing more than yourself
-Do not mindlessly cast healing spells on yourself, be sure to leave enough energy to pull off your attacks/running skills
-I would having 1-3 healing skills on my bar max if I were an A/Mo
-Do not bother healing your teammates unless absolutely necessary, and even then it probably wont do much good.

I think I'd recommend Ranger. You can make a Critical Barrage build which does a lot of damage.

Honestly though, don't sweat it. Just pick something that sounds appealing and fun to you. In factions you'll be able to change your 2nd profession a lot quicker than in Prophecies. So even if you pick something totally horrible it's not a permanent decision that will ruin your character.
