How did this end up in the car section?
Anyway,.. hold the screw and turn the computer (grin)
Seriously two options
1) Try a little lubricant .. wd40 or something similiar. Apply it with a brush or by drops.. do not spray it on
2) Drill off the screw head. Once you remove the case, you can prob. grab the remaiing shank ofthe scre and finish the job.
3) If it is a big enough screw you can buy an 'easy out' which is a screw that screws into the screw - if THAT makes sense. BUT my guess is that you have a small screw.

there is a much easier way of getting the screw out other than drilling... drilling just causes more trouble and work in the long run... go to ur local auto parts store and pivk up what is called an impact driver... it is basically a screwdriver with a spring in the handle.... u tap the end of it with a hammer, and the impact causes the spring to twist making the screw pop loose.... drilling means u have to try to get the rest of the screw out... if u cant get the screw out, u have to drill the rest of it, the tap, or pssibly helicoil the hole to beable to stick another screw in it... the impact driver works everytime, and u can use it on any screw later, so it will pay itself off

Check with makers--It could be a left hand thread.
Old tip for stubborn screws was to tighten it first--then try unscrewing.
Not sure if it will wok but try a little DETTOL on it works on rusty screws but don't ask why!

Take a pair of dykes (diagonal cutting pliers, not the other) and if you have enough head left on it, you might be able to grip the screw tight enough to remove it. Remember "righty-tighty, lefty-loosie".

you probably have to drill a hole in the center of it then use an easy out to remove the screw,,if it is rusted, a shot of pb blaster will disolve the rust. (sold at the auto stores)
