You need to make sure that you indeed have a CD burner. Open my computer and select the drive in question and right click it and select properties. In the properties box if this is a CD burner there will be a recording tab. If no recording tab it is not a burner. If there is a recording tab (top rightmost tab) then ensure that enable recording on this drive box is checked hit apply and ok then try to burn again.

If you do not have a CD burner you can purchase a DVD CD burner for around 50 bucks at your local wal mart store.

Hope this helps good luck

Oh dear.

I have to admit that i once tried copying to a CD I had stuck in the wrong way up (shame I can't show blushing on here!)

DO you have more than one CD drawer? I'm forever having to move from my DVD player to my CD writer 'cos I get them mixed up.
Failing that - it could be to do with the age of your machine - the actual format of CDs has changed minutely over the years - I have a CD writer from the very early days and it will only write to the old CDs I still have hanging around from then as the newer ones are too modern for it. (NO - I don't really tend to use that much anymore!)

sounds like you have a CD player and not a CD writer in your computer. Check the documentation on your computer to make sure it is a CD burner and not just a CD drive.
