For me.....it is because I have just dealt with something and I can CONTROL my hair so ......if I have a bad breakup I go and get my haircut......or if I just want a change in my life.....I go and get a new hairdo.

Probably a control issue.

Never give your mate completely everything they want. Got to keep something back. Does your significant other like your hair "whacked" off? That would be one way to show him who's boss!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm???

I, on the other hand would LOVE to whack my hair off. Shave my head, actually, but my significant other REALLY doesn't want me to, so I won't. It's not a big thing, so I can let him have me with this one option he likes. God knows, I've completely changed other parts of my appearance, and he's still hanging in there...

Yes, lack of control!!! I have the urge now and life just seems to keep serving up situations that I'm not happy with, but really have no control over. I want change, and growth from within out, but I feel stuck, stagnant. Cutting my hair seems the quickest way to see change that I can control NOW! (feeling stuck sucks)

In the middle of the summer, it's because long hair against your neck can overheat you really quickly. If a woman's just had a baby, babies cling like barnacles to anything they can grab, and hair pulling makes mommy make faces. Sometimes you just need a change. Do I really have to list all these out for you?

I usually think about it for months before I finally get the nerve. One day I'll hit the right mood and whack it off! Then I regret it and grow it out all over again.

I would never personally do this(I have long, red, curly hair)-but I think it is because they are tired of their hair and just want to take the easy way out. Or, they saw a cute short cut and want to try it.

Im walking around with about 10 lbs of thick naturally curly hair and its 90 freakin degrees outside today!! Trust me, I wish I could but I would look funny bald, thanks to a large misshapen head.

Long hair is HOT during the summer, and that makes me want to get it all cut off. I blow it dry just to wear it up...it`s a pain!

A new look a new style. When we're feeling stagnant in any part of our lives (mainly relationship or ourselves) the quickest way to make change?!? CHOP THAT HAIR OFF!!!.
I'm thinking of doing it too.

While long hair is pretty-- it requires a ton of maintenance, its HOT in the summer and I get tired of finding my hair everywhere.
So it gets chopped from time to time.
