When it is hot like this, I also try to go for something cool. We do a lot of grilling outside, so it doesn't heat up the house. A salad would be good, even a cold pasta salad. I like the idea someone else had about tune...you could do tuna salad on a pita. It is cheap, cool, and filling.
Good luck. Enjoy your dinner!

I have been trying to use the grill as much as possible, in the same situation here. Last night had the grill going and we had 2" of rain in about 10 minutes. Thank goodness in my area we have a pizza place that has pizzas for $5.55 every day. PBand J is ok on a hot night with some chips maybe. Good Luck!

Salad!! I live in Louisiana, and it's always hot here especially from May - Sept. Just throw on some bacon bits, chicken or turkey, if you have to have meat. Hint - I sometimes but the already cooked chicken strips from WalMart, they're really good on salad.

The greatest thing on a hot summers day like today is either a nice garden salad or a cool fruit salad. With a big glass of sweet tea or Lemonade. They are easy to make and both are nice to cool you down.

you could have a ham sandwich or a salad or soemthing but if you dont have that kind of stuff in the house you should pop some ice in your mouth and cook anyway, it will suck when your cooking but after you can take it outside and have a nice picnic under a tree the satisfaction should be worth the heat.

Get a rotisserie chicken from the supermarket, shred it, and toss it together with a prepackaged salad, and a package of soft Hawaiian rolls. No cooking, No heat, and its yummy. It shouldn't cost more than ten bucks. If you are single, you can stretch it for two or three days!

I'm assuming you'd want something cold, and good. Hm..the eternal quest. Well, you could try...vegetables, like...salad w/ vinegar and dressing. Or, try cold pasta, it tastes good. Get those curly pasta things, and cook it like you normally would, and let it cool, and put it in the fridge, or just cook it, and do NOT put any sauce on it, and let it cool. You could put cheese, and some of those green things [forgot what they're called], but they're like on pasta, and the come w/ the pasta. Yep. & you could try garlic bread, even though it's hot. Try buying a fan. At walgreens you could get them for like $30 for 2, and they're huge! And you can get table fans for $10 at walgreens.
:)pleasee rate hope i helped :)

Make a nice chicken salad, add a good tasting bread, and make something to drink. Then add desert like ice cream or some type of pudding or pie.

Cold cuts are excellent in the summer time. No cooking involved. Bread, cold cuts, condiments - Done! Serve with a cold glass of tea; enjoy!
