In my comps system properties the AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Prosessor 3500+ says that it runs at 2.20ghz ,though when loading hl2 lost cost, steams performance warning states that its running at 1.0ghz. The game play is poor but thats due to the nvida geforse 6150le. upgrading to 7300gs just hope its works. Also if i was to go in and out of the system properties the processer reading will change from 2.20ghz to 1.0ghz?? why is that?

It sounds like Steam just isn't detecting the AMD clockspeed correctly. By the way, the upgrade to a 7300gs will help a lot, but I'd recommend a 7600 if you haven't purchased yet- just slightly higher price, pretty big jump in performance.

Pay $50 for a 7300gs vs $63 for a 7600GS? 13 bucks well spent...

Or even $75 for a 7600GT (after rebate)

lol dont worry. the same thing happened to me also

i installed halo 2 vista on my comp and it says my amd athlon x2 5600+ is running at 1.7 ghz when its actually suspossed to run at 2.6. i have dual sli 7900 gs and theres is no major lag.

sometimes the comp detects ur hardware wrong so dont worry.

Sounds like code in the program you use changes the clock. Have never seen that myself. ~
