i was wondering which would be better to play games at high performance with the 8800GTS 320MB graphics card?
Amd Fx-62/2.8Ghz/dual core/windsor/1000MHz FSB/L2 2MB cache/Socket AM2
or
Intel Core 2 duo E6600/2.4GHz/1066MHz FSB/ L2 4MB cache/socket 775

Both will work great. You will not notice that much of a noticable difference, when you play games. I would buy the cheaper one if money is an issue, and make sure it is compatible with your motherboard, most likely they both are.

The Core 2 Duo is better, as well, it can be overclocked much more so. I've never heard that one processor is better with a particular video card, if it was true, the way benchmarks are done would have to be changed because they always use the same specs except for the type of part they are benchmarking.

There are probably a lot of people that still prefer AMD for gaming but the truth is nothing beats the core 2.

intel core 2 duo. it is more reliable and faster.

I have the AMD and have not had problems with it yet.
