So my wife, a very attractive 46 year old women, is tired of plucking her eyebrows and wants to get them tattoo'ed on. She says they are great and save time and look completely natural. I think they look like magic marker and are completely freakie.

I firmly believe in letting people make their own decisions and you could probably count on 2 fingers the number of times that I have insisted on something in the 19 years of our marriage. But this is yucky.

Any married people have advice or opinions on this?

I'm not married but I have aunts who have tattooed eye brows..

I believe natural although annoying to pluck and deal with is still better any day to me. I rather keep mine trimmed and shaped vs shaving what i have and tattooing something weird and un-natural on what i was supposed to have naturally.

Why do I say this? Well...I go to family gatherings and just stare at my aunts because well "there's something missing above your eyes".. it makes it really hard to focus on what they have to say if i just sit there and stare at them like U LOOK WEIRD, SOMETHING WEIRD ABOUTYOU I CANT PUT MY FINGER ON IT BUT OHH YES NOW i know why you look like a Freak ? Its your eye brows they're GONE!

Honest but true observation. If she wants to tattoo her eye brows she can go join the circus really. Nasty Freaky and Un-Natural

My wife wanted the lip outline tattoo. I said no way. Very cheap look, ala some ghetto gangster girls.

But depends how bad her eyebrows are. Maybe she should not pluck them at all, and you like them. My wife either paints them, or did a tattoo I don't notice. If it will look normal, that's one thing, if freaky, then that's asking too much. Or just figure she'll look interesting for a long time. If she does not like it after awhile, they can be removed, but its painful.

I agree - tattooed eyebrows are gross. And I think you have a right to offer your opinion. Ultimately she can do what she wants, but if your spouse is about to purposely alter their appearance in a way you find unattractive, they need to make it known. Suppose you went ahead and wanted to get a tattoo of something ridiculous and unappealling to her... and in a very obvious spot. I'm SURE she would object.

Yes, it's her body and it sounds like you'll accept it eventually, but I don't blame you for being a little skeeved out by it. You're not being a control freak by letting her know you would REALLY prefer her not to do it.

Offer to pay for her to get them waxed regularly as a compromise (??)

Good luck!

I knew someone who had that done and it look ok on her, but she also had her makeup tattooed on also. lol. I think that was a little over board. I personally would not do a tattoo like that. I would just keep on plucking or take her to get them waxed.

I think you should get a say in this-----YOU have to look at her the most!

I am a woman with normal eyebrows, which MOST women would have if they'd leave 'em ALONE! I agree with you that plucked, drawn or (shudder!) tattooed brows look phony, bizarre, and hideously ugly. Stand your ground on this one---its a battle worth fighting!!

Just ask her not to, tell her how much you love the way she looks and let her know that you really really love the way she looks now.
