I think this depends upon wht it is they want, if it is a relationship then i think its important that you show the opposite sex that you can control your emotions, even if you just want to die inside because if you are weak and cannot control your emotions you will forever attract the wrong type of partner, often resulting in being controlled and sometimes abused, then confidence suffers and your whole life can be affected! I may sound warped but that is how i have got through my break-ups. Said that, why do some people want what they cant get, then when they spent 3 years trying to get it and they finally get it, then decide they dont want it?

I don't know about saving pride, I think it is a childish way to act. If you want something bad enough, you should have enough pride to ask for it. I remember a lot of girls would act like they didn't like a guy cause they thought they couldn't attract him. In truth, they couldn;t attract the guy, bacause of that attitude. They acted like they didn't want to be bothered, but, in truth, they were wanting that attention. It is like opposite thinking. Pretend you don't want something, and if you don't get it, then you won't feel so bad. If people know you want something, and then you don't get, they expect you to be sad. If you pretend you're not interested in the first place, but secretly you really are, people don't see the hurt that you feel but try to hide. Understand? Sorry i couldn't explain this question better, it is very confusing.

being a girl, when i dont get what i want i cry about and throw a fit(this being about guys). Later if any one ask i say why would i want him. I can do soo much better. If you dont get what you want atleast you have some of your pride to fall back on.
