Ok so my fiance and I have decided on
Mackenzie Anne for a girl or
Devin Alfred for a boy
either way, these are the names we are going with, I was just curious what the general public thought and be honest...

Im not to keen on the Alfred but Anne is my deceased grandmother and Alfred is his deceased grandfather so...it works :)

I think it is great to name a child after a deceased grandparent. It keeps their memory alive and in the heart and minds of those who loved them. My daughter named her daughter Katie Louise after my mother. I know my mother is watching my grandchildren from heaven. And I know she is really pleased.

I like Mackenzie Anne! It flows well : )

Devin is unique! I like it a lot! Not a huge fan of Alfred...

Just a suggestion: If you want to honor your hubby's deceased grandfather and are not keen on the actual name take the first initial and find a name you like even better. That is what we did to honor my husband's grandmother. We took the "R" out "Ruth" and went to the baby book and came up with "Rylee". We both like my grandmother's name Margaret, so we kept it and now we have a Rylee Margaret!

Good luck and congrats on the baby to be : )

They're good names. I like Mackenzie Anne. Its a nice, sweet name for a girl, well balanced. Devin is cool, not a personal favorite but it is a nice name. I'm with you Alfred is not a favorite but I love that fact that you guys are using the middle name as a way of honoring important family members. That's something I am definately going to keep in mind, when I have to name my future children.
Congratulations!!!

I'm not a fan of Alfred, myself, but I understand the reason. Mackenzie Anne is beautiful! I really like the name Devin too.

I don't care much for the first names. They are too trendy. But the middle names, Anne and Alfred are very nice.

I hope you have a more unusual last name if you name your daughter Mackenzie Anne. Both names are very common. As for the name itself.. I don't especially like it. 'Mackenzie' is deplorable in my opinion, and I hate the spelling of 'Anne' with an 'e'. Mackenzie Ann looks good.

Devin is the second-to-last name I would ever choose for a boy (the last name I'd choose would be Dominique); I would rather name my son Patricia. I think it's a good idea, however, to choose Alfred as a middle name, as long as it has meaning behind it -- as it does.

There is nothing wrong with those names; sometimes old fashioned names have a way of making a comeback; besides, first or middle I haven't heard the name Alfred in a coon's age.

Not a big fan of Devin, but it's nice. Same here with Alfred.
