Your haplogroup is who you are more closely related to by DNA. It is more accurate than "race." You have to get a DNA test before you really know what your haplogroup is.

One of my brothers is R1b. I think that counts.

I am a "northern barbarian".
The great majority of the Y-chromosomes among even these "northern barbarians," however, are comprised of the same haplogroups (R1b in Western Europe, R1a1 in Eastern Europe, and N in Northeastern Europe) as the majority of the Y-chromosomes of the southerly, earlier civilized populations.

What is a haplogroup?

I have Irish, English, and Shawnee Indian blood in me. So how would I be classified under this system?

C. I'm Eastern Band Cherokee, it seems to occur on both sides of my family even though my mother is predominantly Irish (my father was the full Cherokee.)
