I made a purchase because the item was listed for a very low price. My order was then voided because they claim their system had an error. When I contacted the company regarding this, they said they could not honor the first price because of the system error, I'd have to order again, this time at the new--$250 higher--price. I have my receipt from the first order showing the initial price. Can they charge me more even though none of this was my fault?

If your credit, or debit card, wasn't charged, then the first sale was null and void. That means they can attempt to charge you whatever they want. If your account was charged, then they're bound to give you the item at the price agreed upon at the time of the sale.

Well, it depends on how far you want to take this. All you can do is take it to small claims court and even then the judge would have to rule that the price is resonable at what you paid. If the real price was $250 higher, then it doesn't sound like it was resonable.

Yes, they can as long as no money changed hands. A contract of sale is not complete until they accept payment. Since they rejected your order (voided it), they do not accept payment and no contract is made. They have no legal obligation to honor the lower price. If you do not like their policy, purchase from a competitor.
