My radiator keeps coming up with leaks. I put in stop leak and now there are more. Should I put in more stop leak or try to get a new radiator? Why does it keep having leaks? What should I do to get it fixed?

As I am a single female trying to do the best I can and the stop leak was recommended by my pastor, I don't appreciate any female cracks. If you are not apart of the solution, you are part of the problem.

Stop leak is only a temporary fix to get you home or to a shop for a radiator replacement. So if you've got some stop leak and an appointment to get the radiator replaced, go ahead and put it in, and drive to the shop.

It depends on the radiator, but they typically corrode slowly and the ever-thinning metal tubes eventually give way to the expansion/contraction that occurs due to temperature and pressure cycling. Plastic parts don't corrode, but they too can be weakened by temp/pressure cycles.

Once a radiator starts to leak, you need to have it repaired or replaced. Stop leak is only a temporary measure.

You can buy a new radiator for $135.86 shipped to your door. It is a simple job to replace it. You might want to replace the hoses while you are doing the job, seeing as you have to disconnect them anyway!

plus there are usually repair shops that can re-core your radiator at a much reduced price. look under the yellow pages under radiator repair.

could also look at wrecking yards but be sure they pressure check a used one or it might leak as bad as the one you already have.

a new one could be a very pricey investment!!!
