I have an HP Deskjet 3745 printer that will not print anything. When I click print a window comes up that says "Before you can print, you need to select a printer. If you need to install a printer, either double-click the Add Printer icon or click the Find Printer... button located on the general tab of this dialogue."
Then I'll click Find Printer and type in the name of my printer, HP Deskjet 3745. Then when I click OK a windows comes up that says " Windows cannot connect to the printer. The print spooler service is not running."
So, my question is basically, what do I do? The printer is turned on, paper is in the printer, I have ink, and I think everything is hooked up properly. Please help me out

ThankYou

I had exact same problem either the computer that you are using should be rebooted or the computer that you are trying to print through on a network should be rebooted.

You haven't installed the printer software yet, if you had it would appear in the drop-down list.

Read the Friendly Manual (RTFM) for your HP printer.

it says the print spooler is not running. that is a service that needs to be running on your computer. to start the spooler, select the "start button > run" menu item. type the letters: "cmd" (without quotes) in the "open" box. click ok. this will open a command window. at the prompt, which would look something like this

c:\>

type "net start spooler". it should look like this:

c:\>net start spooler

hit your enter key.

why your spooler service isn't running is another question by itself.

the other option to start the service if you are not comfortable with the command window is to go to the control panel and open the administrative tools icon, then double-click the services icon. scroll down the list and find the print spooler service. double-click to open it. make sure that is says "automatic" in the startup type, and click the "start" button. If you spooler won't start then you have other problems.

Try clicking Start>Run, Type msconfig and select the services tab.

Scroll down to print spooler service and start it ,then right click and select properties and set it to automatic.

follow this:- just try it
1/ start
2/ go to "control panel" you'll find "printers and faxes" icon
click on it
3/ you'll find your printer "HP Deskjet 3745 "
4/ right click on your printer "HP Deskjet 3745 "
5/ choose "set as default printer" it will be checked
6/ try to print a word document
