I have two questions. One, how much is a buffalo nickel without any date worth. Second, if I find a buffalo nickel without a date. Is there any way to make that date show up

Without a date it has little value except for jewelry and making hobo nickels. There is an item on the market called Nic-O-Date, Try a coin dealer near you or www.brooklyngallery.com they are a large coin and stamp supply company that has real good prices. It is an acid that will make the date appear. Most collectors consider the nickel damaged after you use the chemical. They are the purists and when one is on a budget, one does what he has too. Also it is fun, just to see what date it is. I think coin collecting should be fun and a learning experience.

Without a date it is almost worthless because you have no idea of the rarity.

There is a way to get the date to show up, it is called an Acid Date. You apply acid to where the date should be and it shows up, but very weakly. I don't know much more about it. Sorry.

If the date is missing, it has been rubbed off, due to wear. There
is no way to restore the date.
