Yes that would contribute. I don't know if you're having a boy or girl, but your husband is the size of a professional football player so I wouldn't expect anything dainty to come out of you and prepping mentally for a c-section (I had two) just in case might be wise.
As to whether the doctors can be wrong, sure they can be. Their estimations of your progress are based very largely on what you recall of when your last period was. If THAT was wrong, they can be wrong. If they're doing the ultrasounds, they can see what developmental stage the fetus is at though, and if those readings are consistent with the week they tell you you're in, then you're probably as pregnant as they think you are.
Don't worry, you're almost there regardless. It just feels like forever.

Well, I'm no doctor, but when I was pregnant with my son, the doctor set my due date at 12/18. I kept thinking I was due a month earlier (because I had morning sickness). They even did an ultrasound when I was about 5 months & kept the due date the same. My son was born on 11/22 (3 & 1/2 weeks "early") and weighed 8 lbs 1 & 1/2 oz! I am a small woman & he definitely wasn't a month premature!
So, based on my own experience, it is possible to be further along....

If you've had ultrasound, the doctor will know exactly how pregnant you are. As for size, every pregnancy, every mother, every baby is different. Some women carry high, some low. Some women don't even show they're pregnant even past 8 months. Some women look huge early on. It's all relative. Don't worry about it. Enjoy your pregnancy. See your doctor regularly and follow a good diet and exercise plant.
Good luck! This should be a very happy time!

Yes. Unless medical science has found a way to be more exact. Doctors get information from you, do an exam, and give you an educated estimate of your due date. The size of your husband wouldn't have any direct effect on how big you are, but the size of the baby could. Hope you have a healthy, happy baby.

I wouldn't think that your husband's size would contribute to the baby now. Lots of women vary and differ from each other in size throughout pregnancy. I am sure your doctor's are accurate at this far along because they can measure the baby.

It's possible. But at this far along, they're pretty accurate. They measure the babies body, femur, head circumference and factor in the day of your LMP (last menstrual period). The size of you husband could explain why your baby is so large...if in fact the baby is measuring large.
I was huge with my daughter. I looked like I had a beach ball under there. She was 6 pounds even at 38 weeks. They attributed my size to fibroids caused by scar tissue from a previous surgery. Look in to it.

Yes. I'm 5'2 and my husband is 6'2. I looked like I was carrying twins when I was 6 months because of my body type. Dr. thought the baby would weigh 9+ pounds but he was just barely 7.
An ultrasound is a good measure of gestational age and can better confirm your due date. the 40 weeks is just a rule of thumb.

I'm 29 weeks today, and I'm big, my due date is September 12th. I know that I'm 29 weeks because I wanted to get pregnant and kept track of my periods. They may be wrong or you have a big baby on the way. My baby is Loooonnnnnng and big.

Doctors can tell by ultrasound results and the measurement between your pubic synthesis and your belly button.
Since your husband is big, you may have a big baby. Do you know what the sex is? Boys are usually bigger than girls, but not always.
