Safe? That depends on how your body has developed. Alsways get a pelvic exam before you have sex for the first time. That way you will know everything is ok. Some women have a tilted uterus putting there cervix up front. And this can cause pain with intercourse. Many other things could be wrong. And The doctor can tell you things you need to know about protection. Some people need to use different forms. Remember to allways use two forms of protection.
You will know you are truly ready if you take the time to get to know your body and protect it from all harms. Meaning STD's to infections from other things. Planned Parent Hood is a good place to start on getting information.
Then also remember the moral issues.

It amazes me that you are even THINKING about having sex at your age. When I was 14 sex was the last thing on my mind!
Do yourself a BIG favor...please wait to have sex. You can't be emotionally ready to have sex at your age...what if you get pregnant? Are you going to drop out of high school (if you are even in high school yet) and get a job to support your child? If so, you are going to have an extremely difficult time finding a job that: (1) will hire you since you are under 16 (2) pays enough to support a child (or even a single person)...remember your choices will be slim since you won't have a high school degree. In fact it is becomming increasingly difficult to attain full-time employement with benefits unless you have a great deal of experience and/or a college degree.
I'm sorry to rant at you, but please consider the following:
Do you want to go to college and have a career you truly enjoy?
Do you want to own a new car/home (before your 40)?
If you do...please control yourself until you are really ready! There is a lot you and your boyfriend can do rather than going "all the way". It is so important that you both exercise the necessary precautions to prevent STDs.

A fourteen year old is not emotionally equipped to have sex. I know that you are curious, but believe me, the first time isn't even nice, ask all the girls here. You will be sorry, because once you start, it's much easier to have sex every time you have a boyfriend. Just imagine how many guys you would have slept with by the time you're 25. I'm not trying to judge you, but you can see from all these answers, it's not a good idea. Ask yourself this, if you had a 14 year old daughter, would you want her to have sex?

No, you shouldn't have sex. Right now, all you know is that the sensations feel good and I'm sure you feel like "everyone else is doing it." But believe me, you're not ready to accept the consquences of having sex yet. You just see it as something fun to do but sex can cause some major problems - like sexually transmitted diseases, and pregnancy. Do you really think you're ready to deal with such major things? If you DO decide to go ahead with it, I suggest you go to a drug store and buy condoms as well as spermicide which is something you squeeze inside the condom to kill the sperm. I hope you make the right decision. You have the rest of your life to enjoy sex - just enjoy being young right now! Sex should really be something you save for someone later who you are truly in love with.

You are not going to harm your bodies by having sex at 14. However, being pregnant at 14 can be a serious problem on many levels.

i was 14 years old when i first had sex. and ya know what? i don't regret it whatsoever. we practiced safe sex. always used a condom.. and he and i are actually STILL together to this day and are married and starting a family. i'm 22 years old and i just got pregnant and we couldn't be happier.
dear, practice safe sex that is all i ask. but age means nothing. unless you get pregnant at 14 then that's definetly not good. but be smart, be safe, and make sure he really is someone special to you =)

i don't think u should, u r too young and cant take the risk of getting pregnant. U haven't mentioned since when u had ur first period, so its kind of vague... but anyway i think its very risky. U don't wanna get pregnant, then have no choice except to give up ur baby for adoption or maybe abort it. Sex isnt sooo much fun all the way, the concequences can be really bad and affects the rest of ur life.

the only safe way in any case is to make sure you have protection...
If you are 14 and have to ask people if you should do it... then your not ready.. you should wait until you know yourself that you are ready to handle it..
keep in mind, if you think you're old enough to have sex than you should be old enough to take care of a child if you get pregnant..
think about it... make a wise choice.
